History: 

Muscat is a very ancient grape variety, first mentioned in 1510. Of eastern origin and very different to the sweet Muscat, it is the result of a blend of two grape varieties, Muscat d'Alsace Ottonel. (Blended in equal proportions at Domaines Schlumberger).

Location: 

Muscat is a delicate, very sensitive grape variety. This wine mainly comes from the Bollenberg and Bux plots. Being very difficult, our Muscat is unfortunately not available every year. 

Wine-Making: 

A blend, in equal porportions, of two varieties of Muscat d'Alsace and Muscat Ottonel. The grapes are pressed pneumatically followed by static settling of the must. Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled tuns from 1 to 4 months. The wine is raised on the less for 4 months and bottled within the year.

Tasting: 

The robe is light yellow with light green reflections of low intensity. The disk is bright, limpid and transparent. The wine shows youth.
The nose is marked, pleasant and intense. Sophisticated, we perceive a dominant of fruity scents, citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit), water-rich fruits (melon, watermelon), spices (ginger), flowers (blackcurrant leaf, delicate vegetal, peppermint). The airing enhances these scents and reveals an exotic touch, peach and apricot, as well as a delicate secondary personality of English candy and sake. The nose reflects a perfect state of health of the grapes as well as a right level of maturity. I have rarely experienced so much depth and complexity. It shows a radiant energy !
The onset in the mouth is moderately ample and tender with a vigorous alcohol support. The wine evolves on an incisive medium, marked by a sparkling note. The aromatic radiance is the same as the nose, still dominated by citrus fruits, lemon, yuzu zest, watermelon, melon, peach, spices, ginger, delicate vegetal, blackcurrant leaf, peppermint, chlorophyll and sake. We perceives a hint of bitterness. The finish has a good length, 6-7 caudalies, a persistent bitterness and a delicate vivacity. Slender, light and chiseled, the balance, shows freshness. Still supported by this tonic and structured range of flavours, sharp as razors.

Gastronomy: 

Perfect as an appetizer, this wine goes perfectly with starters, such as salmon, mint and ginger sushis, Norway lobster tabbouleh with peach and star anise, scallop carpaccio with citrus fruits and Sichuan pepper or, of course, a fresh goat cheese with chives. To be served at a temperature of 12°C.
